We are three small teams working on big things. The results of our work are used by millions of passengers around the world every day.
Our daily work involves developing, testing, and implementing software components for devices used by passengers, such as validators (i.e., ticket stampers) and ticket vending machines (self-service ticket machines, ticket offices in customer centers and public transport drivers).
We code the basic version of the software in C/C++, test it on real devices, and implement it in applications based on Qt technology. We design and develop solutions that are stable, scalable, and easily integrated into larger systems. When we are done, we pass our release packages on to the project and marketing teams, who then customize them according to the specific requirements of end customers.
Our teams:

Most of our teams are international. The combination of Slovak and German IT minds has proven successful in our company. Our language of communication is English. We cover thousands of kilometers every day via MS Teams, but we also meet in person at least once a year.
We work in scrum, with daily stand-ups, 3-week sprints, reviews, and our favorite retrospectives, where we always come up with at least one improvement and leave with full stomachs.
You will find Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Developers, SW Integrators, and a four-legged Happiness Manager! He is the only one of his kind at Scheidt & Bachmann. Whenever we feel down, he comes to us, looks at us, asks for a treat, and immediately feels better. And thanks to him, so do we. That's why we can't work without him.
We also can't do without our florist, Miro, who takes exemplary care of our office greenery during breaks between integrations and regularly supplies it with new green pieces. With the new addition of oxygen, our level of satisfaction, buzz, and ideas is rising.

On the one hand, our work is more technically demanding, and on the other, we are very narrowly focused on specific devices. And so we have become "device connoisseurs." We know our devices like our own children, which most of us don't have yet.
Our ideas and solutions don't end up in a drawer, but form the basis for future innovations. We enjoy seeing our children grow into a new, even better generation.
We don't just code according to specifications, but influence the final form of the product ourselves. We are actively involved in software architecture.
We like practical thinking and unconventional solutions to traditional situations. We are allergic to sudden changes in priorities.
We don't just drink coffee, but also tea, water, and beer. We have breakfast together – everyone brings what they like from home, and we eat it all together while discussing what's new with each other. We never agree on lunch, as we all have different tastes, so we have freedom of choice and variety.

Our office is strategically located on the ground floor of the Žilina IT center. We are 5 steps away from the meeting rooms, 10 steps from the kitchen, 20 steps from the testing room, 30 steps from the climbing wall, and "only" 40 steps from the SuB Ka. canteen if we use the stairs instead of the elevator. It's 15 steps to the boss's office, but we take this route as little as possible and try to minimize it throughout the year with our work performance.
The number of height-adjustable desks in our office is lower than the number of team members, so we diligently and voluntarily use hybrid work. However, we love our office. Its dominant feature is a board we call the "Wailing Wall." Every day, we use colored markers, words, and artistic attempts to write down our feelings, ideas, and important points from the daily stand-up meeting, and we look at it with longing, waiting for the date of the next retrospective or team building to appear.
"What I appreciate most about Scheidt & Bachmann is the opportunity for professional growth, investment in new technologies, high-quality product management, and open communication with employees."
"I started at Scheidt & Bachmann as a student and have stayed here ever since. I like the relaxed team atmosphere and modern working environment. I also enjoy using the IT center's sports area with table tennis, billiards, and a climbing wall. On a busy workday, it's great to be able to clear my head with some exercise at any time."
"I would recommend our company to anyone looking for a stable yet dynamic company where everyone has a real impact on the results of their work. It's a great place for those who want to work on high-quality products, advance professionally, and be part of an international team. Another big plus is the work-life balance, good work organization, clearly defined goals, fair conditions, and a friendly atmosphere."
