Monitoring Platform

We are the newest addition and also the smallest team of the service department in the Fare Collection Systems division.

We were created to set up and develop a monitoring system that will make the work of our colleagues throughout the service department easier. In other words, we teach the system to pay attention for us and at the same time teach it to alert us to everything important at the right moment. 

We don't deal with incidents.

We are the ones who can anticipate problems before they arise, giving others a head start in resolving them. We don't use a crystal ball; we rely on data and various tools to help us.

Otherwise, we are a relaxed group of analytical minds who care about details – because they are what determine whether the monitoring system works reliably. We enjoy finding logic in numbers, brainstorming over coffee, transcribing data, and bringing order to the world. At least to our FCS microcosm.

What we do

Every day, we analyze and implement new monitoring options in Centreone and Grafane. With Prometheus and PromQL, we monitor how microservices behave.

We monitor RabbitMQ, SFTP, the status of portals, and APIs. 

When necessary, we can also dive into log files or Oracle and PostgreSQL. 

And if there is no solution that meets our needs? 
We write our own – whether in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

We work in a live environment that is constantly evolving, so we adapt each solution to current needs. We look for optimal procedures that will strengthen the system and prepare it to continue functioning reliably in our ecosystem.

Where to find us

You can find our bright office in the Žilina IT center. It is marked as 1.22 D and has a strategic location – a stone's throw from the kitchen and meeting rooms, two steps from the vending machines with sweets, and as far away from the boss as possible.

We take turns on guard duty so that it won’t miss us. When we need to focus more on details, we work from home. We take full advantage of the hybrid work model. Changing our work environment suits us. At home, we have more peace and quiet, while the office has a relaxed atmosphere and more fun. And when we all meet there, it's a reason to celebrate.
