Officially, we are the BOS/HOS I team, familiarly known as the Sharks. Not because we attack, but because we don't stop easily. Quietly, focused, and with precision, we swim toward our goal — when we promise something, you can be sure we'll deliver. Without unnecessary bubbles around us.
We don't compromise on our rituals. We start each day with a morning stand-up meeting, where we discuss what needs to be done and how, without any fluff. It's like a technical "weather report" – concise, informative, and occasionally stormy. We plan our sprints thoroughly and take retrospectives seriously, but always with a sense of perspective (and sometimes with cake).
We are diverse, but we pull together. Some of us like to keep quiet (and code), others like to talk (and also code), but we all have one thing in common: we do things properly, without excuses and with respect for our work and our colleagues.
Yes, it sounds strange – but anyone who has ever completed a sprint with us knows that behind this team wisdom lies healthy realism, a pinch of dry humour, and the ability to survive even the wildest tasks with common sense.
"I've been part of Scheidt & Bachmann for over 20 years. I joined thanks to a recommendation from a classmate who still works here. I like the work style and the hybrid work model. We have a great team, we work in a pleasant environment, and above all, the work is not monotonous. It is constantly changing, which gives me the opportunity to constantly move forward."
"I had been looking for a job in testing for more than 10 years. Most of my former colleagues and acquaintances were working for Scheidt & Bachmann at the time. I took their positive recommendations and sent my resume. It worked out, and I am glad that I can work for a stable employer on interesting projects."
"I knew Scheidt & Bachmann before I joined the company because I taught English there as part of the company's language benefit program. I was particularly impressed by the people who work here, their sense of humour, and their enthusiasm for their work. So, when I saw the job offer, I wasn't afraid to change direction and enter the world of IT."
In a nutshell?
We deliver.
In a slightly longer version – we design, develop, and maintain solutions that make sense for the company. We are the ones you can rely on when you need something done accurately, thoroughly, and on time. And because we care about quality, we don't just rush to get the job done, but we also make sure that it is done well – technically, in terms of user experience, and from the perspective of long-term sustainability. Our biggest project is SIQMA Nova. We are collaborating on it with our Ukrainian colleagues and doing everything we can to make this product beneficial for our key customers.
We work in Scrum, in two-week sprints, planning realistically and sensibly. We help each other, respect each other, and don't throw obstacles in each other's way.
We monitor velocity, forecast accuracy, and burndown charts. Not just for the Scrum master, but also for realistic planning and reliable delivery.
We are one of the most stable teams in delivery – we are not afraid of change because we know how to use it properly.
Our backlog is tidy, tasks have descriptions, acceptance criteria, tags... and we have peace of mind.
If we estimate something at 8 story points, there is a good chance that it will be exactly 8. Maybe 7, if we push ourselves.
Some would compare our work to surgery – everything must be clean, precise, and prepared. We see it as a team synchronized swimming. Because when we swim together, everything flows smoothly.
We are not robots, but we understand technology. Mostly.
You can find our offices in building B on Priemyselná Street in Žilina on the top floor. We operate in a hybrid manner and fully support a flexible work regime. We mainly go to the office to socialize at scrum events such as reviews, planning, and retrospectives. And also for coffee and lunch together. Otherwise, we work from home – efficiently, quietly, with trust and respect for time and concentration. After all, sharks don't have to be in the same tank to swim in the same direction.
We are always looking for new people to join our team.
