Our team: IT Infrastructure Operation
Our team – in short "ITIO“ also called Hosting team – was founded in the summer of 2015. We are a team of 14 systems administrators (including one female administrator) from Slovakia and we all speak to each other as friends. We are professionals who are constantly working on themselves and like new challenges. When there is no coronavirus pandemic, we leave our homes or office and strengthen our relationships – whether at go-karting, laser games, wall climbing or with good food and beer in the well-known pub.
What we do
Our main role is to ensure that IT infrastructure and back-end systems are continuously available, so that our customers’ customers can buy tickets for public transport at any time.
We manage hardware infrastructure (firewalls, servers, storage...) in the data centers of the Fare Collection Systems (FCS) division, as well as third-party software (operating systems, databases, antivirus...). Variety of incidents are addressed to us within or outside working time – our work effort is 24/7/365.
We install and configure new environments, but we also make changes according to the requirements of our customers and colleagues. An important part of our work is regular maintenance of IT infrastructure, software updates but also hardware migration. If it is necessary, we go to install hardware directly to the data centers – even in America.
We proactively monitor everything to prevent even the smallest problems. We also solve IT security in our data centers, and participate in an external IT security audit (PCI DSS) every year.
We are the 4th level of service and we face new challenges every day. We not only take care of external customer systems, but we support our colleagues from quality, service or software development and architects, too. The boredom and stereotype do not concern us. :-)
Our performance in numbers:
- Average age of the team – 38 years
- We manage 4 production data centers (2 in Germany and 2 in the USA), 3 public cloud environments (Amazon Web Services in the USA, Ireland and Germany) and 1 internal environment (in Germany).
- Services in our production data centers are used by 36 customers of the FCS division – mostly from United Kingdom (15) and USA (7).
- We manage over 40 technologies from 25 companies.
- We take care of 2,000+ domain accounts, 1,000+ virtual servers, 350+ databases and 150+ hardware components.

Where to find us
We have settled in the IT centre Scheidt & Bachmann at Priemyselná Street in Žilina in a spacious office with air-conditioning and big windows. But we can work from our homes anytime, too.
