Resource efficiency
The switch to a resource-efficient and sustainable economy is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. For this purpose Scheidt & Bachmann has committed to reduce its environmental pollution and energy consumption over the long term and to increase energy efficiency in a continuous improving process. To achieve these objectives, Scheidt & Bachmann has introduced an energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001:2011 for all sites in Germany and an environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 at the Mönchengladbach site. Both management systems have been successfully certified in November 2016.
Sustainability and resource efficiency is achieved through the following measures:
Durable equipment
- Scheidt & Bachmann devices have a very long service life. Our field devices have a life expectancy of over 10 years and are recycable to a high percentage. This requirement is consistently considered in the development of our products.
Sustainability in logistics
- Due to the high proportion of in-house production it allows us to responsibly and autonomously manage our resources. As well, we are largely independent of the third party in both the manufacturing and shipping of our products. Thus, permitting for sustainable supply chains and material flows to be planned and implemented.
Lifecycle management
- Errors and system failures are avoided by systematically maintaining and replacing highly demanded components of our equipment which continuously increases the service life. In addition, we recycle our customers’ disused modules in our own repair centre for further use.
