Our company employs 450 employees at its Žilina headquarters on 14 Priemyselná Street. Many of them commute to work on foot or by bicycle. Until now, however, there has been no safe infrastructure to enable them to do so. "The health and safety of our employees are our top priorities. That's why we are constantly investing in improving not only the working environment, but also the surrounding area. At the same time, we actively respond to employee suggestions, and the sidewalk was one of them. We made it one of our main goals, but despite our efforts, the process turned out to be complex and lengthy," explains Ing. Katarína Veneny, HR Manager at Scheidt & Bachmann Slovensko s.r.o.
After several years of effort and a series of negotiations with the city of Žilina, we found a solution for building the sidewalk that benefited both parties. "Our sincere thanks go to Scheidt & Bachmann, who not only initiated this important sidewalk, but also financed the project documentation andcovered all legal processes necessary to obtain the required official statements, decisions and permits. We appreciate the company's commitment and believe that there will be more such positive examples of cooperation between the city and the private sector," the city of Žilina said in its statement.
The 376-metre-long and 1.5-metre-wide sidewalk construction started on March 21. It is expected to be completed by the end of June.
"Our company has been operating in Žilina since 1995, and we are pleased that, on the occasion of our 30th anniversary, we can contribute to a project that will benefit the broader Žilina community," concludes Ing. Ján Krúpa, Managing Director of Scheidt & Bachmann Slovensko s.r.o.
