Dr. Peter Lazar, managing director for production and logistics, came up with the idea to realize a charity collection in our company. "A lot of things that still work end up in the trash, although they could still serve to someone. Each of us can use this ´tidying time´ to contribute a little to fulfil our corporate value – Social responsibility."
During December, the secretariats in each divisions were changed to collection points for sorted clothes, shoes, drugstore goods and toys. The employees of all organisational levels and divisions took part at the charity event. They were the most active in production in Bytča and the Žilina´s headquarters, where you can find Administration and Fuel Retail Solutions & Signalling Systems divisions.
On 8 January 2021, we delivered over more than 30 sacks to OZ Dobrý pastier (non-profit organisation Good Shepherd) in town Kláštor pod Znievom. “I have known this non-profit organisation for a long time and they always need and accept any type of help. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the final amount of our help. I thought that I took a few bags into my trunk and delivered them. In the end, Mr. Straka, from the Logistics department, had to deliver sacks with the company van," says Dr. Lazar.
Father Vladimír Maslák from OZ Dobrý pastier, who operates one of the largest facilities for poor people in Slovakia, was extremely pleased with our gift. He also thanked for the amount of winter clothes, which were needed the most at that time.
In Slovakia we decided to repeat this charity event again and soon, because of great success among the employees.
