We were among the fastest teams on the National Run Devín – Bratislava

    - Human-Resources

Our runners confirmed a great form at the oldest run event in Slovakia. Several of them competed for the first time in their lives.

Twenty-five runners in vivid yellow T-shirts with the logo of Scheidt & Bachmann started at 71st National run Devín – Bratislava, which took place on Sunday, April 15, 2018. They did not lose among the 6.000 participants and achieved excellent placement in both competitions – individual and team run.

Our fast runners. Back row from the left side: Karol Slanina, Róbert Ševčík, Lukáš Šmid, Tamara Hrnková, Róbert Šutek, Anna Tvrdá, Maroš Jasenčák. Front row from left to right: Richard Baláž, Martin Piala, Roman Murárik, Michal Blaško and František Talapka.

For the first time and the fastest

Roman Murárik, Signalling Systems department, ran the 11.625 m track in 0:45:26. He finished 10 minutes after victorious Ethiopian, Cherutich Nelson Kipkogei.

My goal was to run under 46 minutes and be among first 100 runners. And I eventually was successful. It was one of my best time for a 10 km track, so I am very satisfied,“ says Roman.

What is Roman´s recipe for running success? “I ate 100 g chocolate and drank 2 dcl of red wine in the evening before run,” laughs Roman and adds: “I run almost every day, but I had two days off in my preparation before the contest.

Also František Talapka, Signalling Systems department, sparkled with a very good placement. He finished in 72nd place in men over 40 years with time of 51 minutes 52 seconds. The fastest woman in our team was Gabriela Ostertágová, Fare Collection Systems department (1:01:17).

    Team spirit won

The runners have appreciated the performance of the whole team more than individual wins. Our team finished in great 21st place among 145 teams. Even if, some runners ran in the competition for the first time.

Anna Tvrdá, Production department, says that application form for the contest was the reason, why she started to run: “I ran 4 times per two weeks. :-) Which was great performance, because I hadn´t run at all. I do not look at my running to bus or train. I´m really glad that I ran without any problems or stops – of my body or heart. That was my goal.”

Our runners have set a steady goal for the next year. The most of them are going to run again: “I hope we will finish in top 20 teams,” says František Talapka, Signalling Systems deparment.

    Whole family was running

The “Small Devín” contest was part of the National Run. Organisers prepared for children up to 10 years a race with length of 2.800 m. Our company was represented by children of Karol Slanina and Gabriela Ostertágová. They saved face among strong competitors. Martin Slanina was 10th in the mix category over the 16 years with time of 0:14:00. His sister Hanka Slaninová finished in 37th place in 13 - 15 years old girls. Six children dressed up in Scheidt & Bachmann´s T-shirts won a nice 16th place.

Congratulations to both small and adult runners!

We wondered what crossed our runners` minds at the finish line:

Michal Blaško: „Yeaaaah, the finish finally.“

Anna Tvrdá: „I´m great. :-). I´m kidding. Just a great feeling. I´ve made it!“

Karol Slanina: „I felt very good while I was running, but I didn´t have a watch. So I was surprised in the finish that I had 1 minute worse time than year before.

Richard Baláž: „God bless you, that I didn´t pass out like the guy 100 m before finish.”

Martin Piala: „One pretty girls in front of me and happiness in my head.”
