We do sports with the Scheidt & Bachmann logo on the chest

    - Human-Resources

Slovak employees of Scheidt & Bachmann are very competitive types. They compete in internal company‘s competitions, but also outside the company in various sporting events. This year they participated in several events and always proudly represented their employer.

    National Run Devín – Bratislava

The oldest run in Slovakia has been opening the sports season of Scheidt & Bachmann employees for several years. 15 of our runners took part in its 72nd year. They considered reaching the 11.6 km distant target as a challenge, because the thermometer showed 5 °C and rain started a few minutes before the start of the race. On the track, everybody was fighting their own battles. Anna Tvrdá (Production) "with her tired herself", but she didn´t give up and even improved her last year's runtime. For Martin Piala (Internal Services), the hardest thing was "To see my colleague Tomáš Belavý outrunning me." Karol Slanina (Fare Collection Systems) also had a strong outrunning experience: „About a kilometer before the finish, a blind runner overtook me. What a dude!” Richard Baláž (Fare Collection Systems) trained hard before and after work, so he managed to discuss the Euro elections with runners running along with him. Lukáš Ondro (Fuel Retail Solutions) was chosen by TV cameras and he appeared on TV for the first time in his life. Although everyone was running for themselves, their runtimes were added together, and then they ranked the company teams. Our team finished in 54th place among 142 teams.

Our runners had a smile on their faces in the finish.

    Rotary Night Run & Inline

Employees of Scheidt & Bachmann Slovensko proudly represented their employer during the summer break, too. On Friday, 26st July 2019, 13 of our employees took part in the cross-country and inline races in the beautiful environment of the Vodné dielo Žilina (The Žilina Dam), which started during the sunset. Roman Murárik, software developer of Signalling Systems, was the most successful on the 8.2 km running race. He finished in a decent 22nd place and commented his performance as follows: “After almost a five-month break from a competition run caused by an injury and with a minimum of running miles, I decided to try a longer race. The first half of the race was on uneven terrain and I had to go carefully. We ran the second half on asphalt, so I tried to speed up as much as possible. My time was about 2 minutes worse than I expected. But I take it that I run for the joy of running and the result is not important to me anymore.”

    Žilina Half-Marathon

Most of the employees participated in the race in the streets of Žilina on 15th September 2019. František Talapka (Signalling Systems) dominated at the 5 km track in his age category, followed by Peter Buček (Fuel Retail Solutions) and Slavomír Černický (Fuel Retail Solutions) ranked in 7th place in the same category. Ján Krúpa, Managing Director of the Scheidt & Bachmann Slovensko, ran over 10 km with 11 other colleagues. They took places in the first half of result list, although they had a strong competition. Seven of our brave colleagues dared for the half-marathon run. Our fastest runner was Ľubomír Pastorek (Fare Collection Systems), who took 20th place. We were also represented in scooter races. Two colleagues overcame 10 km for several minutes. Everyone enjoyed the race despite of the fact that running on cobblestones was really hard. The driving force for them was great fans who encouraged runners and scooters along the entire track.

    Žilina´s Mud Race

Žilina´s Mud Race is an “Obstacle race for all those who can laugh although they have the mud up to the neck.” The crazy race tested physical condition of our colleagues and also teamwork. Scheidt & Bachmann was represented by 5 teams. The duo from Fare Collection Systems – Ľubomír Pastorek and Róbert Čech – finished only a minute after the winners in the pair competition. Another our pair finished in 11th place. The mixed team – Martin Piala (Internal Services), Michal Blaško and Tamara Hrnková (both Production) – ranked in 8th place in the triad and quad category. The other 3 teams fulfilled the race´s creed and enjoyed the 8 km track with 15 obstacles at their best. You never know when else you can run wild with your colleagues in the mud!
