Scheidt & Bachmann with a new certificate

The granting of the AEO authorisation means that the Slovak branch meets the security and quality criteria of the supply chain and is thus a reliable partner in international business.

The certification process began in December 2021 with the application and was completed on 24th October 2022 when an AEOC authorisation – i.e. an authorisation for customs simplifications – was obtained. During this time, the customs authorities did not only check customs procedures, but also the physical security of our products from production to storage and transport. All these activities had to be harmonised with the customs requirements applicable throughout the European Union.

The inspection also focused on the company's internal control mechanisms and financial health. Colleagues from the Slovakian logistics, production, quality, purchasing and finance departments had to work out new guidelines and put them into practice or complete a professional training course for the application of the grant. Various other technical, logistical and administrative requirements were met. 

However, the Slovakian branch is continuing the certification process. Another goal is to obtain an AEOS certificate – authorisation ‘Security’, which makes security-relevant processes easier. However, this requires creating a lockable customs area in the warehouse and carrying out employee security checks.
