Scheidt & Bachmann play for high stakes
This year already second time with the net
After the great success and enthusiasm of the January tournament we were keen to repeat this event. As a newcomer to the competition, we took up the gauntlet and organized another encounter.
In October 2017, a total of 6 teams competed again in the volleyball battlefield in the sports hall of the Hotel Bôrik in Žilina. Representatives of other major companies in the region of Žilina competed together with us: Kia, Siemens, Glovis, Descartes and Kros. The tournament system was merciless - two groups of three teams were formed, each team playing with the two remaining in the group and the group winners then fought for medals.
World Championship atmosphere
Enthusiasm and fighting spirit, battle for every ball and every point. These were the main attributes of volleyball fever, which in its atmosphere resembled professional event. The individual teams actively encouraged one another and the audience created an excellent background that could be envied by the first-league clubs.
No lack of heroic performances on the net, perfect spikes and excellent team play. Most of the battles were indecisive and the winners were confirmed at the very end of each set.
Second place victory
Our volleyball team eventually lost in the finals against the Kia carmaker masters and we won the silver medal. Siemens company players took third place.
"It's great to see our colleagues have a lot of get up and go with both – work and game. We all know that only good team play and mutual cooperation is the right way to achieve the goal. I am glad to have such amazing colleagues in the company," the organizer Radomír Čurný from the Fare Collection Systems department commented after the tournament.
With our sports and social activities we want to keep proving that being a part of Scheidt & Bachmann Slovakia does not only mean a good and stable job. It is all about great people who create a friendly and relaxing atmosphere at the workplace; colleagues who play as one team in the office as well as on the court; friends who are ready to help when needed.
