We were 11, now, we are more

When we joined the campaign for the first time, we were eleven. This year, at the end of April, we have registered in plentiful representation: altogether 26 participating employees from various departments, divided into seven teams, they were collecting kilometres together by their trips to and from work.

Compared to last year, we recorded an increase of more than 100% what reflects the popularity of cycling among our employees. The tendency is very good – it is also thanks to such activities that our company is made visible in the light of ecologically beneficial projects.

Our cycling heroes covered thousands of kilometres

Although the weather was not always friendly, we have covered altogether 3326 kilometres during 693 rides. Our kilometres made almost 9% of all kilometres travelled on bicycle within the Žilina municipality. However, the biggest success of ours has been in the category of involved cyclists where we had the highest number in Žilina.

The highest number of kilometres within our team has been covered by Lenka Kapaníková with the phenomenal performance of 598,4 km (26 rides), by Milan Kamenský with also great number of 562,7 km (21 rides) and Zuzana Chovanová with 246 kilometres (36 rides) – all of them were riding for the S&B-CykloTeam.

In the quantity of rides, the biggest team leaders were Peter Chinoracký with unbelievable number of 44 rides, followed by Zuzana Matejová together with Alexander Kucka with 42 and Janka Šebeňová with Radoslav Valovič with 40 rides per month. In the rides quantity, our team S&B-Chipcoin missed the award closely and took the respected third place with 158 rides within the Žilina municipality.

When we enjoy biking and eating together

On Monday, the 29th of May 2017, the canteen of our production hall experienced a common lunch of involved cyclists where almost all took part. We came – not surprisingly – on bikes and in representative t-shirt To Work On Bike for what we are thankful to our company leaders. It was a successful event at the end of which we took common photos.

New challenges ahead of us

These results present a satisfaction for many of us and encourage us to ecological use of non-engine transport means, and not only during the campaign’s month. Through our bike rides, we help to road traffic to become lower, to air in the region to be cleaner and at the end, to ourselves as well, since it is a healthy transportation mean.

We thank to all twenty six participants within the whole company for achieving great results and for successful company representing. We believe that in the next year, we will meet in even a larger number and we will be getting over our own records together.
