Also Our Colleagues Were Setting Žilina on Foot

In June, the Zilina branch of the Scheidt & Bachmann Slovakia company for the first time joined the national project Our City (Nase Mesto), organized by the Pontis Foundation and a group of companies Engage. Motto of the 10th edition was "Let's set our city on foot" and its activities involved almost 9,500 volunteers from more than 100 companies in about 30 towns in Slovakia.

We Were Rescuing What Was Old

Our 12 colleagues devoted about 100 hours to three non-profit organizations: they renewed old furniture of the family centre for the NGO Family Tale, recreational benches for the Facility for the Elderly and Social Services Home in Zilina and helped the Association for the Lietava Castle Restauration in jointing the south wall of the Rectangular Bastion to extend the life of the historical masonry.

Jaroslav Mitterpach for castle jointers evaluated: "We liked the work, we enjoyed being in nature and doing manual labor, which strengthened our working relationships."

We Are a Company That Helps

In addition to brand awareness Scheidt & Bachmann among NGOs and obtaining interesting contacts, we had the opportunity to broaden our horizons of life, experience a pleasant feeling of helping others, and also by teamwork, get to know colleagues from other departments better.

About the Our City Project

The project connects the corporate sector with government and non-profit organizations, giving employees opportunities within working hours to carry out beneficial activities for their cities, and giving companies an opportunity to increase their positive action on the environment.
